Have you ever thought to yourself, “Wow, I have awesome friends!” I have many times…and I definitely thought it to myself this weekend! After talking about it with my sister and some friends, we decided that I am not really the type of girl to go downtown Minneapolis with a group of friends to do the typical “suck for a buck” t-shirts and drink out of a straw shaped like a penis for my bachelorette party. Instead, we decided to get a group of girls together and head up to the “cabin” (i.e. house that is actually nicer than my house) for the weekend. My friend Madi’s boyfriend was gracious enough to let us use his (Thanks Dan!) Madi had to work on Saturday so she couldn’t come up until Saturday afternoon, but Lesley, Nicol, and I decided to head up Friday, September 18 through Monday, September 21st and have others come up when they could throughout the weekend. So on Friday, Lesley and Nicol came over and picked me up to head to Wascott , Wisconsin .
We arrived around 2:30 and spent some time unloading the car and opening up the house…
There was A LOT of ice in the freezer…which was good, because the combination of a cabin and a bachelorette party = drinks all weekend long!
My friend Jen Parsons arrived around 6:30 on Friday evening and we sat down for dinner. Lesley, who is an amazing cook, made fajitas and as you can see there was A LOT of meat (which I love!)
And what goes amazingly with meat (or anything else for that matter?) Corn!!!
A little bit later that evening, my friend Laura arrived and we spent the night hanging out on the deck, drinking, talking and watching disgusting videos on YouTube…don’t worry, I won’t post any links to them here!
The next morning we had some breakfast (and maybe a cocktail) and around noon, Madi arrived (Yay!) and Jen had to leave to go home and study (Boo!) I, of course, made sure that we Memorexed the moment with a group picture…

The rest of the day was spent hanging out, swimming, talking, drinking, and waiting for Jeanne, Audrey, Nikki, and Tesa to arrive.
Once everyone was there and ready, we headed up to Pogo’s for the night. Nicol, Lesley, and Madi had gotten me a veil to wear and although it was kind of cheesy and I pretended that I didn’t want to wear it, I kind of enjoyed it. As you may already know, I don’t really mind being the center of attention and wearing a veil to a bar in the middle of nowhere kind of puts you right there! It is also a great way to not have to pay for anything all night…LOL!
We all ordered dinner and then Lesley and Madi went and got Lemon Drops for everyone…I haven’t done a shot in a longtime and was a bit scared…
...but I think we all took it like troopers and lets not kid ourselves, it’s a lot easier to get up and dance after a shot or two…It’s also a bit easier to get up and sing “I Got You Babe” after a shot or two…
After we got back to the house, people started dropping one by one, slowly but surely. I was out on the deck for most of the night, which is too bad because I missed a whole incident with an infamous “Madi shower” and what seemed to be a bit of hilarity involving a s’more. Nikki and I sat up until about 3:30am talking out on the deck until we both decided to stop fighting how tired we were and go to bed.
The next morning, I woke up around 9:00 and once again began the daily ritual of coffee (followed by cocktails.) Even with only 5 hours of sleep, oddly, I felt great. LOL! Tesa had to drive Nikki back to Minneapolis and then drive back to Fargo , so they took off pretty early. Don’t worry…Memorexed that group moment before they left as well!

We had some breakfast and then Jeanne, Audrey, and Laura started to get their things together for their drive home. Nicol, Lesley, Madi and I stayed until Monday, so the rest of Sunday was spent just hanging out and lounging, drinking cocktails, making dinner, Nicol cleaning up after dinner, Madi practicing my hair for the wedding, watching the Emmy’s, watching a movie, and laughing hysterically!

It was such an amazingly fun weekend...I could not have asked for a better time or better friends!!! Thanks ladies...sure do love ya!!!

Love it. Thanks for being a great friend to all of us! :D oh, and Madi was asking for a S'moah. :) hilarity...
