Food Tasting at the Metropolitan and a Wedding in Fargo

Today was one of those days that we realized that the wedding is coming up soon…95 days and counting!!! We had our food tasting at the Metropolitan and it was a lot of fun. We were allowed to have two guests come with us and we noticed that most of the other people had their parents with them. Jason and I love Chris, Jack, and Sandy very much, but they are very Minnesotan and sometimes find ketchup to be a bit too spicy…so we thought we better invite people who may actually enjoy the fanciness that is D’Amico catering. So we asked my sister, Nicol and Jason’s cousin, Jacie. The food was AMAZING!!! We got to try appetizers, salads, vegetarian, seafood, chicken, and beef options…not to mention the ridiculously awesome desserts! (“Operation Skinny Bride” was put on hold for the tasting…I’m just saying!) My friend (and the event planner for the Metropolitan) Jess hung out with us as well.

We decided a while ago that we wanted the food at our wedding to have an Asian theme because the date is two days after Thanksgiving. We didn’t want any of the food at the wedding to resemble the food people had on Thursday or the leftovers they will be eating for the next week. So overall, the tasting was not all that productive in deciding what specific food we will be having on the 28th, but we got to have an amazing lunch with family that we love and you can’t go wrong with that! The one productive thing that was accomplished was a decision was made on dessert, and let’s not kid ourselves, is there anything more important than that?

On another note, this past weekend Nicol and I drove to Fargo/Moorehead for a friend’s wedding. The ceremony was performed by the bride’s brothers, so I was able to get some ideas for our ceremony which is being performed by my cousin Brad. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful wedding, and we had a great time…congratulations to the Buffingtons!!!

This coming weekend, Jason and I are going to the Vieyra’s wedding reception, which is also at the Metropolitan. Then in two weeks, we will be going to my cousin Billy’s wedding…how perfect that we have so many weddings leading up to ours? I am going to steal so many ideas from all three of them!!!
