I have had a couple people ask why we chose November 28th as our wedding date and if that particular date had any special meaning to us. The reason actually has more to do with my crazy-person logic then anything else. I will let you in on this crazy now…
We wanted to be engaged for awhile so that we would be able to save for and plan the wedding, and being that we were engaged in April of 2008 the first reasonable date for consideration would have been January, 2009. I nixed this idea because #1 Jason’s birthday is in January and #2 we always have our party in January. I didn’t want our anniversary to coincide with our party for the rest of our lives. All of you that know Jason and I well can figure out why February was not in any way going to be acceptable. No offense to those married in February or those that absolutely love Valentine’s Day, but the added cheese of a Valentine’s Day wedding is just not “Jason and Kellee.” March, April, and May were out because they could still be freezing and snowy, or they could be rainy and gross. June, July, August, and September were crossed off of the list because of the potential for unbelievably hot and disgusting weather. Being hot has a tendency to make me crabby, and I would prefer (and I am sure that Jason would prefer) to not be crabby on my wedding day! With that knowledge, the possibilities were down to October, November, and December. October was crossed off because my birthday is in October, and as most of you know, I am bitter enough about having my birthday be so close to Halloween, we didn’t need to add another thing to the October list for me to complain about! December was crossed off because off the holidays and how busy everybody inevitably is around that time. So we were left with November. We decided to do November 28th because it fell on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays, and we thought that having our wedding that weekend would give our friends and family who live out of town a double excuse to come home!
So there it is, a snapshot into the way my crazy mind works…maybe I shouldn’t be so open about how I come to my crazy decisions?
